❄️ ⚠️ A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Sandusky beginning 11pm Thursday, January 18 through 4am Saturday, January 20. 🚫🅿️ EMERGENCY SNOW STREETS - In preparation of the winter storm, we are asking residents to remove any vehicles on Emergency Snow Streets by 11pm Thursday night (Jan 18). Once snow accumulates more than 2 inches, a parking ban on these streets goes into effect. Any vehicle parked on these streets during a parking ban may be ticketed or towed. We will give additional notice if the ban goes into effect. View the Emergency Snow Streets map at reminders:ℹ️ During winter storms, City crews focus on keeping the snow routes and major streets open through the duration of the storm. This allows essential and emergency travel around town even in the worst of conditions. Once the snow stops, the focus shifts to clearing the side streets and residential areas.ℹ️ Snowplow operators work hard to make roads passable, not perfect. All motorists should account for additional travel time during snow events and plan to GO SLOW while being mindful that plow operators cannot see directly behind their trucks and often stop or back-up. Keeping a safe distance behind a snowplow will protect you from possible injury and protect your car from materials that plows spread on slick roadways.ℹ️ Once the snow storm ends, we ask that you be mindful of your neighbors and ensure that the sidewalks and sidewalk ramps adjacent to your property are cleared of ice and snow. We strongly urge property owners to assist their neighbors who may not be physically capable of snow removal. Updates will be posted here throughout the snow event, as well as on our website ...
